Under his vision and leadership, Boston Scientific grew from a start-up company with 38 employees to a $3 billion company in 1999, employing more than 13,500 people worldwide. Before co-founding Boston Scientific in 1979, Mr. Nicholas served as General Manager of the Medical Products Division at Millipore Corporation. From 1968 through 1978, he held various positions both in and outside the United States at Eli Lilly & Company, in sales, marketing and general management. Served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, resigning his commission as a lieutenant in 1968.
