James F. Benenati, MD, FSIR
James F. Benenati, MD, FSIR is Founder and Chief Medical Officer of the Endovascular Forum. Dr. Benenati joined the Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute in 1989 after serving as assistant professor of radiology and surgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, where he also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology. At Indiana University Medical Center Hospital, he completed his radiology residency in diagnostic radiology from 1984-1988. Dr. Benenati is currently the medical director of the Peripheral Vascular Laboratory at the Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute and is the director of the Fellowship Program. He is active in numerous clinical research projects in the areas of treatment of peripheral vascular disease, including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair with endografts, the use of stents in peripheral vascular disease and methods of prevention of restenosis in the femoral and popliteal arteries. He is also active in research in tumor embolization, including uterine artery embolization for the treatment of fibroids.

Dr. Benenati is a fellow in the American Heart Association and in the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is a clinical associate professor of radiology at the University of South Florida School of Medicine and also a courtesy associate professor at the Biomedical Engineering Institute, Florida International University. He serves on the executive committee for the Society of Interventional Radiology and serves on numerous other medical boards for organizations related to vascular and interventional radiology.
