SVM: A community of vascular clinicians and scientists.
The Society for Vascular Medicine is a professional organization that was founded in 1989 to foster a broad mission. The goals of the Society are to improve the integration of vascular biological advances into medical practice, and to maintain high standards of clinical vascular medicine.
The Society is distinguished by its emphasis on clinical approaches to vascular disorders. Optimal vascular care is best accomplished by the collegial interaction of a community of vascular professionals, including individuals with expertise in vascular medicine, vascular surgery, interventional radiology, vascular nursing, vascular technology, and other disciplines.
The Society recognizes the importance of individuals with diverse backgrounds in achieving ideal standards of research and clinical practice. The Society encourages these individuals to join the Society and to help accomplish its clinical and scientific mission.

Complex Interventional Cardiovascular TherapyThe overriding goal of the Complex Interventional Cardiovascular Therapy (CICT) meeting is to promote high quality, patient-centered, clinical and technical decision-making in the field of Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine. Emphasis will be placed on promoting the importance of critical thinking and clinical judgment in interpreting the Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine evidence-based database. Invited faculty will present the "clinician's perspective" on how to incorporate information from the ever growing evidence-based medicine database into a rational patient-centered practice through case-based workshops.
The content of this meeting will address a wide range of complex cardiovascular interventional topics that still present a challenge to the clinician with respect to choosing the appropriate therapy (surgery vs. catheter-based therapy) and with respect to using optimal technique to ensure the safety and efficacy of the procedure.

Global Embolization Symposium and Technologies (GEST)
The GEST aim is to bring you the highest level of scientific and technical education about the use of new materials and devices, their results, relevance for patient care, imaging, and, of course, to fine tune your existing skills and expertise in these areas.
Embolization is one of the few areas in endovascular therapy that draws together all practitioners, regardless of their individual subspeciality practices. Obviously, for the interventional oncologist, embolization is the sine qua non. However, embolization spans peripheral vascular disease, trauma, visceral artery and venous interventions, pediatric and neurointerventional therapies, women's health, aortic disease, vascular malformations, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver disease, non-vascular procedures, cell-based therapies, etc. No part of the discipline is untouched. The GEST meeting or Global Embolization Symposium and Technologies, is the first and only meeting that focuses upon bringing you a global, in-depth technical, hands-on, and evidence based review of the entire field and an insight into the research that will shape your practice.
